Psychology 371: Communication Skills in Counseling

Course Mentor:   Carol Rainwater, EdD

Tuition: $375

This course will focus on the “how’s” of the Clinical Interview, exploring the Clinical Interview and its components from the perspective of the microskills approach developed over many years by Allen E. Ivey and colleagues.  You will have the opportunity to integrate parts of this approach with your counseling style, if you choose.  You will have the opportunity to reexamine your counseling style, which is always valuable, and to enhance your way of communicating with clients, perfecting the techniques that work, and acquiring new ones.
