Message From Founders

I am happy to welcome you to the World University of America (Ojai).

This is an educational institution dedicated to the total education of the whole person, that kind of education which awakens and perfects a human being not only in the partial and temporal aspects of his humanity, but also in the infinite magnitude of his divinity as a child of God so deeply and succinctly expressed in the first two words of the Lord's Prayer, Our Father.

As you begin and continue to live your life as a student in this University, you will inevitably realize that we give as much emphasis to your spiritual awakening as we do to your intellectual development. You will surely feel, as strongly as you will be told, that there is as much concern here for moral excellence as there is for academic brilliance. We value the intelligent human being. To us, intelligence without goodness of heart is, not only not worth having but is also a menace to human happiness.

With Socrates we say, Knowledge is Virtue, but we also declare with equal ardor, Goodness is wisdom.

You will find yourself with teachers who not only know but who also love and reverence life, as well as with students who strive to do the same.

And there is no other time in the history of humanity when there is so much need for unselfish love in the welter of technological knowledge.

To all our students:

I hope you have come because of the dream, the vision, and the goals we hope to achieve through you when you go out into the world equipped with the ideals we sponsor.

We expect our students to be harbingers of peace and examples of humaneness in word and in action. The Global Education Program will develop in you a global consciousness, which will awaken your interest in the welfare of our planet earth and people of all races and creeds. The Ethical Orientation Program stresses character education that is basically just and humane and intended to bring about harmony in society.

To all our students, welcome again to these ideals for a happy and peaceful world.
